Types of Evangelism
Saturation Evangelism
Jerry Falwell defined Saturation Evangelism as "Reaching every available person by every available
means at every available time.
Methods come and go. One of Paul's favorite types of evangelism was Synagogue Evangelism. He would to to a
synagogue on the Sabbath and preach the Gospel. It's probably been over 1,900 years since that worked!
In his classic Revival Lectures, Charles Finney described an effective way of getting people saved
in his day. They would bring an unsaved person to a prayer meeting. The Christians would gather around the person
and pray for him or her to get saved. I can't imagine that working, but it did in the 1830's.
Use whatever you can (as long as it's not sinful, of course) to reach out and get people saved.
One California pastor, whose church was in a suburb with a lot of young couples, brought a potty training expert
in for a free class on "How to Potty Train Your Kids." The church auditorium was packed with young couples eager to
learn. The church followed up on all the attendees, and many young couples came to know the Lord.
Ask God what you can do to reach the people within your reach.
