Making the Most of our Opportunities for Evangelism
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. (Col. 4:5)
- We must go where the people are who need to get saved – wherever they are – (Matt. 9:10-13)

- Jesus went to the outcast rather than to the religious people only. (Mark 2:15-17;
Luke 5:32).
- Jesus made it a point to go through Samaria in order to reach certain lost people there. (John
4:4-42)
- Jesus came to seek for the lost and to save them. (Luke 19:10)
- Peter and John flooded Jerusalem with the Gospel. (Acts 5:28)
- Paul got people to read God’s Word for themselves (Acts 17:11)
- House-to-house evangelism is New Testament evangelism. (Acts 5:42; 20:20)
- Daily evangelism in New Testament evangelism. (Acts 5:42; 19:19)
- Unceasing evangelism. (Acts 5:42)
- Evangelism to governmental authorities:

- We will have the opportunity to witness for Christ when taken to court for being
Christians and for spreading the Gospel. (Luke 21:13)
- Peter and John preached, when arrested, to the authorities. (Acts 4:8-12)
- Paul preached to Felix (Acts 24:25) and to Agrippa[pa (Acts 26:28-29) in his trial.
- Paul preached to guards while in prison for Jesus. (Acts 16:31; Phil. 1:12-13)
- Evangelism when traveling is New Testament evangelism:

- Jesus stopped to rest and evangelized while he was resting. (John 4:4-42)
- The members of the Jerusalem church were scattered all over Judea and Samaria by persecution (Acts
8:1). When they were fleeing, they preached the Gospel from place to place. (Acts 8:4)
- Philip told the Gospel in all the towns he passed through while traveling from
Samaria to Jerusalem. (Acts 8:40)
- Peter and John told the Gospel in many Samaritan villages while traveling from
Samaria to Jerusalem. (Acts 8:25)
- We are to take the Gospel into every place that we possibly can. (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke
24:47-49; John 20:21; Acts 1:8)
- Any place where there is a group of lost people there is a needy place to evangelize:

- Synagogue evangelism (Acts 13:14-15; 14:1; 17:1-2, 10, 17; 18:14, 19; 19:8)
- Paul and Silas went to the spot where they thought that the most people would be. (Acts 16:13)
- A curious crowd gathered at Pentecost, Peter preached, and 3000 were saved. (Acts 2:5-42)
- Paul used a festival in Ephesus as an opening for evangelism. (1 Cor. 16:8-9)
- Evangelizing neighbors. (Acts 18:7-8)
- An apology or explanation of the faith is an opportunity for evangelism. (Acts 2:5-42; 1 Pet. 3:15)
But he shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me . . .”
(Acts 1:8)
A true witness delivereth souls. (Prov. 14:25)
